This project replaced the bridge over the Staunton River and Norfolk Southern Railway.
Benefits
The structure was built in 1929 and is poor condition. It has a twelve-month inspection frequency. Considering the age, condition, geometrics and type of structure, the practical and cost-effective solution is total replacement.
The new structure is a two-lane bridge on approximately the same alignment as the current bridge.
